 Orange Petunias

Good news, we may be seeing orange petunias on the market again.  Thanks to a recent decision by the USDA, flower breeders and distributors can once again sell petunias containing the once-banned maize gene .

A quick jog of your memory: Back in 2017, the USDA (as well as Canadian and European agencies) got word that there were petunias on the market that were considered genetically engineered because they contained the gene called “A1DFR” from corn plants, but were not registered properly with the authorities. So they had to be pulled from the market. The lifting of the ban begins immediately.
